I need some help...

On Monday morning at 01.01am my friend gave birth to a gorgeous healthy baby boy. The very proud parents have called his Oscar and he already has a head full of hair.

My problem is I don't have a clue what to buy them. This is for a mum (and dad) who have everything and had a wonderful big baby shower, where they were all very spoilt.

So, does anyone have ideas what I can buy them as a 'welcome to the world' gift?

Thank you for any ideas, help or suggestions.

Round up of the week

Who Was Your Best Dressed This Week? - Red
With a busy work schedule, manic family time with the Boy and the animals and there is always something that seems to get in the way of a little bit of me time.

Through out the week if a news article catches my eye, I copy the web link and file it away in a folder to be read at a later date. That date always seems to be a Sunday morning curled up on the sofa with a cup of tea in my hand.

Which has got me thinking that I can't be the only person who does this. Every Sunday, instead of keeping the articles to myself, I am going to share with all you lovely people. So, make yourself comfortable, get a hot drink in your hand and enjoy catching up on the gossip.

A surprisingly good find

While dragging the Boy round the shops this weekend, it became obvious we had to take a pit stop to refuel (I think the huffing and puffing gave it away). We wanted to try somewhere different and stumbled across a restaurant that we couldn't resist trying.

I instantly fell in love with the style of the place, everything from the logo the decor and the take out packaging, So much so I had to share it with you all. The food was great, staff very friendly and if you are ever in Chichester I recommend paying Amelie and Friends a visit.

Quote to sum up my week

I am so happy that it's Friday and also a long weekend (Bank holiday on Monday). I think this quote sums my week up. I need a loooong nap and then it'll all be behind me and I can go and enjoy the last bit of Summer.

Have a great weekend.

Thinking ahead

Now that the great British weather seems to of left us for another year. I have been browsing the online stores to see what they are offering for Autumn and Winter. It is crazy that I am thinking about the change in season already as it is still August, but it is dark, getting colder and raining.

While looking at River Island I fell in love with a bag (the above photo), I love the colour and the bamboo handle. My normal everyday bag is always black (my safe go to colour, that I match with everything). I think I may change it up this season and go for a dark green - if I am brave enough to follow through with this action is another question.

Do you find that you have a go to bag, that you use every day, rarly change and throw everything in? I am always surprised what I find in mine....

Inspiration overload

I haven't posted a 'through the keyhole' post in a while. I haven't caught up with The Coveteur for some time, and was thrilled to see they have featured the fashion offices of Who What Wear. I am a follower of the website and have the books. I love how it is a simple idea that Katherine Power and Hillary Kerr have developed and enjoyed by many.

I love the look of the offices and how simple the layout is. I would love to work in an office, that is shown in the above images so much inspiration - love the idea of the nail polish in a clear glass jar.

For more images from the shoot, head over to The Coveteur.

Oh I do like to be beside the seaside

After the manic week at work last week, I was looking forward to the weekend. The weather was looking good and I had no plans - bliss.

I spent the day relaxing on Saturday and tidying up around the house (very glamorous). Sunday the Boy and I decided to pack up the car including Baz and head down to the beach.

We live about a 10 minute drive from West Wittering beach and they have a long stretch of beach for dog walkers, which is perfect. It is such a lovely place to spend a day chilling out.

Hope you all had a good weekend.

Rain, rain go away

When I look out of the window today - it looks like the above photo. It is 2.15pm in August and it feels like 5pm in October. It hasn't stop raining today and I would like to know where our English summer (kind of dry and cloudy) has gone?

I hope it brightens up for the bank holiday at the end of the month.

Green fingers

So, this weekend the Boy and I put our green fingers on and set to work on the garden.

Even though everything we look after and grow is in pots (as mentioned here) we still need to cut the grass and weed the flower beds. It is amazing how fast weeds grow and how many different types there are. But we got there in the end and after a fun afternoon, I started to pay more attention to the plants in the pots.

I was surprised to see that our tomatoes and strawberry's (first and second photo) have started to grow and I could resist trying some. They are some yummy and fresh. Granted we won't be able to live off of what we grow in the garden, but for a first attempt it is good going.

We also have a small herb garden (a collection of pots, in the third photo) and they are growing at an amazing rate. It is so nice to pick our own herbs, this makes the dinner we are cooking so much more tasty.

Hope you all had a great weekend.

Kate Moss on the cover of Vogue US - Sep 11

I know what you are thinking, you have seen these photos everywhere and everyone is posting them. But I just had to share them and make these photos part of my blog.

Kate looks amazing and the whole wedding party is stunning - I think Mario Testino (who also took the engagement shots for Prince William and Kate Middleton) help with making the photos look great.

I love the 'midsummers' feel this wedding has and it really does grasp the English countryside perfectly.

Do you like the photos?

Barbie girl

You know you have made it, when you have a doll designed as you or a character you play.

Some of these dolls are a great comparison and you can tell who they are straight away, but some of them not so much.

What do you think? Would you like to see yourself as a doll? I'm not keen on the idea.
