I'm the King of the castle - part one

On Saturday it was the Boy's birthday and as my treat to him on the Friday I took him on a day out to Arundel castle. It is a place that is only ten minutes down the road from us, and some where we always pass and say we need to visit some time.

Friday was that day and the weather was gorgeous! I packed up a picnic and told the Boy we were off for a surprise. We walked the 133 steps up the to the keep that resulted in a brilliant view for miles and looked around some of the rooms. We then found a sunny spot in the ground to eat our lunch and close our eyes for half an hour.

If you get the chance to go and see Arundel I would recommend it (on a nice sunny day, would be better).

The second part of this post will be photos of the amazing gardens within the grounds.

  8. ooooh wow, such a great post! theres something about castles that are so mystical and divine, that i cant point out, maybe its because the architecture is so unique and cant find them being made today. (im sure i spelled architecture wrong. =P)
