Oh Christmas tree...

Ever since I was little my mam would always have the Christmas tree up in time for my birthday. It was always a double wammy for me, birthday presents and the decorated tree to symbolise that Christmas was nearly here.

Even though I don't live at home any more and I am slightly older now (a lot older). My mam still makes sure that she has the tree up for my birthday. Tomorrow night, the decorations will appear from the loft, the fairy lights will be lit and the living room will be turned into a magical winter wonder land. Along with the 'Happy Birthday' text message, my mam will also send me a photo of the Christmas tree.

Until I receive the message on Wednesday morning, I have found a great selection of beautifully decorated trees. I still can't believe Christmas is nearly here!!

Round up of the week

GetUp Australia, is an independent organisation, who are working toward a parliament with economic fairness, social justice and environmental sustainability at it's core.

They are doing a lot of work in Australia, but, 'It's time' is one video that stood out for me.
It made me think, about how easily it is for a persons perspective to change and be thought provoking, about why in 2011 we still seem, in some aspects, to be living like people did 50, 100, 150 and earlier years ago. Should we not all move with the times and accept that everyone has their own right to love and be with that one person.
Even though I live in the UK, I think this is a great message for everyone and not just the people of Australia.

Sparkly lights

As Christmas is fast approaching my love of fairy lights grows stronger and this restaurant was no different. All of the windows had fairy lights in them from floor to ceiling and they looked amazing!

I also loved the wall of different sized and shaped mirrors, the lights from the windows reflected around the space and made it feel and look so inviting.

Not long now till Christmas and I can't wait to put all of the lights up and add a bit of sparkle to the home.

Beautiful Autumn morning

It is mornings like this that make Autumn my most favourite season of all, as previously mentioned here.

The beautiful colours in the sky as the sun rises, the crisp morning air, the wild life can still be seen and heard and the moon and sun both shine in the sky at the same time.

All I need is to wrap up warm with my wellies on and I am happy.

A very rare sighting

Even though Lola and Bambi are getting on a lot better now. To see them sitting still together is another story and by the time I have grabbed the camera, they have moved. So, even though the above photos are not the best, it was a rare moment and I caught it on camera.

I love the contrast of black and white photos and images, there seems to be a depth to them that you just don't get from coloured ones.

The above are a few of favourites that I have found on-line, you can find them all here
