Oscars 2011

These are a handful of my favourite looks from the evening.

I loved Natalie Portman's acceptance speech for winning 'The Best Actress' for 'Black Swan'. She opened by thanking her other half and father of her child:

"My beautiful love Benjamin who choreographed the film. He's given me most important role of my life."

What are your favourite looks, or who do you think got it wrong?

Busy bee

Wow, the past two weeks have flown by and I haven't even been doing anything fun. Work has been manic and by the time I get home, feed Baz and have a bit of a wind down time for myself it's bed time. I then do it all over again, how very boring of me.

But I have tried to keep update date with the amazing photos from LFW and it does seem that it just gets better and better every year.

So some news with me, is that it's nearly March and I 'think' I might take the plunge I join a gym... I hate the thought of it and I am so unfit that it is going to be hard work. But I think I really need to. So that is something I will need to find some time for.

Some purchases that I have made this week (can you tell it's pay day) is the amazing Low Luv by Erin Wasson ring, which I hope I've ordered in the right size. Also bought the Nails inc offer that I mentioned here, I placed my order and can't wait to see what colours I receive from the lucky dip - I hope they are one's I don't have already have.

I can't wait to see all of the amazing outfits that the Oscars have to offer tonight.Unfortunately I won't stay up for them but will see all the delights when I wake up on Monday morning.

Hope you're all having a great weekend and enjoying the spring like weather we are having!

LFW - Diana Vickers

I have fallen in love with Diana Vickers outfit in this picture. She is looking really good and very put together.

This photo was taken as she was leaving the Krystof show on 18th Feb 11.

Introducing...

Me...

A very very young me, I'm an 80's child and to be honest this is one of the better outfits that my mam used to dress me in! There are some very cringe worthy moments in the family photo albums that I wouldn't want to remind myself of. I do like the the scarf that I am wrapped in, I have quizzed my mam about. But unfortunately she got rid of it years ago, so that won't be a hand me down.

So there we have it, I have eased myself in gently into introducing myself. Now I should be able to show more updated pictures of myself...

On another note - check out the mix mash of fence panels in the background. Very random.

It's Valentines Day...

I hope all you lovely people received something nice from a loved one? If not don't worry, it's only a made up holiday for card companies to make lots and lots of money.

The boy and I are not very big believers in the day, so only exchanged cards this morning. I did buy him a bag of 'mini eggs' thou (does that class as a present?) but only because I wanted a bag of 'creme eggs' - 2 for £2!!! How could I say no, but also didn't want to feel like a heffer lump - share the guilt.

I think if you love some who is your world, you should show them and remind them every day. Not have a day set aside when everyone else does it. But I would of been a little bit moody if I didn't get anything. Oh I'm a contradiction to myself.

A chilled out Sunday

Once again another weekend has flown by. On Friday I took myself off to the hairdressers for a well needed trim, and bought a small size of the Moroccan oil. I know I must be behind the times as this product has been raved about for a while but I thought I'd give it a go. So fingers crossed it doesn't leave me in a greasy mess.

Also the items I ordered have arrived, I mentioned them in this post. The bag can still fit all my life in (and more) as there is zip at the bottom that expands! I am also loving the nail polish, in different lights it does look like a different colour, it needs three coats to make sure that the nail is fully covered. I can't wait to order glitter based ones as they look amazing on the samples I have seen (I googled them).

As well as treating myself on Friday, the boy and I spent a lot of time on Saturday cleaning the house ready for his dad and other half to join us for a home cooked meal in the evening. Through out the downstairs of the house is wooden and slate flooring and it amazes me how fast dust bunnies appear and grow. Sunday as been spent chilling and catching up on watching 'The Human Planet' which I have found really interesting to watch.

Black on black

I haven't hidden the fact that I am in love with nail polish and today I came across the above photo. I love the contrast in black without it feeling too goth like (matte black polish tends to make me think that).

If only I had a steady hand to be able to paint tips.

Full moon

We all have our favourite sites that we go to every day or have bookmarked. I love it when I have a few spare minutes to explore the internet and come across a website that is new and fresh to me.

This website is one that I stumbled across and the first image above is what drew me to it. I find it relaxing to look at and there is something enchanting by it.

Are there any websites that you have stumbled across and liked?

Here already...

Why do the weekends always go so fast, and the week days tend to drag (apart from when your on holiday)? Even though my weekend consisted of cleaning the house, drinking lots of wine and being a tiny bit naughty...

After my last post on the 'Deborah Lippmann' nail polishes, I spent a lot of my time on Saturday night trying to decide if I should purchase 'Don't Tell Mama' or not. In the end I went for it and also bought the 'Warehouse foldover shopper', which I am hoping will replace my current everyday bag that will fit my all of my life in. Buying these two items meant I qualified for free delivery. So all worth it...

No I am waiting for my items to arrive and I really hope that the the nail polish lives up to the hype I've read.

Here's to the fast approaching Monday, have a good one.

Did this pass me by...

Happy Birthday

Don't Tell Mama

Ruby Red Slippers
While doing a bit of internet 'window' shopping in the beauty section of the House of Fraser website. I came across a name I have never heard of; Deborah Lippmann.

After spending some time looking at the colours here, I took myself off to Google to see if there was more information on Deborah Lippmann who is American has been named a 'mega manicurist' by Vogue (so it's all looking very positive). The above colours are a few from the Deborah Lippmann website and I have fallen in love with them. They are a bit on the pricey side but after seeing some examples on the internet they look great.

I think the 'Ruby Red Slippers' would look great for a romantic Valentines evening meal, very sexy.

I am just wondering if this brand hasn't had much of a PR backing since launching in the UK or if I have been blind and not paid any attention. I can't wait to try it though.

Splash of colour

While we are all still wrapped up warm in the cold UK, I am very jealous the sun is shining in LA and they all seem to be making full use of the heat and Rachel Bilson is one of those people. I love her outfit in these photos, the nude dress with the great colour of the jacket works really well on her. Rachel is on her way to the 'Chelsea Lately' show to talk about her new film 'Waiting For Forever'.

I can't wait for the weather to warm up, it feels like it has been cold for way too long!

Blah...

There are always days where you fell a bit 'blah', well I'm having one of those weeks (the photo is trying to make me feel better). I'm just not able to snap out of it, I seem to be questioning a lot of things and that seems to make me feel even worse. To make it worse the River Island skirt I fell in love with here still isn't in the shops or online. But it'll all pass and everything will be on track again.

But on some not so depressing note... My blog is a month old, and I want to say thank you to everyone who has taken the time to look at it and comment. I didn't really know what to expect thou when I started blogging but I am loving it.

Since my last post I have used the nail doctors varnish twice and my nails are still peeling. So I'll keep trying and I guess I shouldn't be so impatient and give it time.
