Inspirational Thursday

The sky is no limit for Christian Louboutin. These size 37, eight inch Swarovski-encrusted heels, were being auctioned off to raise funds for the English National Ballet (ENB). The event was held last night (29th June 2011) by silent auction.

As well as Christian Louboutin many other designers donated their designs for the cause. You can see the full catalogue here.

Scrummy, yummy dinner

Tonight the boy and I had home made burgers for dinner and they were so good. I love how fresh and full of flavour they were, I had them with cheese, bacon and lettuce - yummy for my tummy.

I thought I'd share some (bad iphone) photos with you. I am so full now and ready for sleeps.

Light as a feather

I have always loved feathers, as a child I would collect as many as I could find on walks with my family, I would be drawn to anything thing on the tv or in shops with feathers on. Even as I have grown older, I buy clothes, note pads or cards etc with feather prints.

For this summer I bought the feather print River Island skirt, which I love and have worn so many times. I also have a gorgeous peacock feather print scarf, with four peacock feathers at the end, which I love dearly. I would have to say that peacock feathers are my favourite. I love the colours and the detail and no two are the same - which applies for nearly all the feathers.

I think I must of been an Amazon tribesman/woman in the past life, the people who would collect all the feather from brightly coloured birds then design a head dress to attract their own mate.

It Gets Better

While catching up on my tv programs that I missed in the week, an advert for Google Chrome caught my eye. I've watched it a few times now and I have an overwhelming feeling of pride and happiness, and I wanted to share it with all of you.

It Gets Better...

This is such a positive video, with the backing of some famous faces and stories from normal people. The world has come such a long way over the years, and I strongly believe that everyone has the right to love and spend their life as they wish. We only have one life and we should enjoy every minute of it.

Have a great weekend.

The newest member

Last night the boy and I went and looked at some kittens, and this little ball of fluff has won my heart. She is only 3 weeks old and is so cute.

She sat on my lap and didn't make a fuss or call for her mum, and I knew I had to have her.

We are picking her up towards the end of July and I am going to book some time off work to make sure she settles in and Bambi is nice to her. So our family is going to grow from three to four and I can't wait.

We are going back to see the kitten in a few weeks, to see how much she has grown and developed her personality. We need to think of a name for her, any suggestions???

Can I get a H2O...

I am rubbish at drinking water, to be honest I think that is an understatement! If there is something sweeter, tastes and is colourful, my drink of choice would be ice cold Diet Coke (after wine of course!). I would rather have a glass of that rather than a glass of water.

I know and like many others have read and been told about the benefits of drinking the tasteless, clear stuff and have decided it is time to take action and start drinking more water.

To help me with my quest I have a two litre bottle of pure water sat on my desk at work that I aim to drink by the end of my working day. So far I am doing well, apart from using the toilet a lot more than I used to ( peeing like a race horse springs to mind). I am still having Diet Coke in the evenings, I can't stop drinking it for love or money.

Do you find it easy to drink a lot of water in a day?

It is no secret that I love a good nose around homes, so when I came across Courteney Cox's Malibu home, I had to share.

I love the amount of different styles of artwork there is around her home, and the outside area is amazing.

These photos are from the July/August 2011 issue of ELLE Decor and show a great insite into the Courteney Cox's home.

Are there any Celebrities homes that you like?

Life Lessons; part two

6. Don’t chase money… Money is like a pretty man/woman – if you chase them, they’ll run. Instead, attract them to you by creating the correct conditions

7. Focus on finding your passions. Combine them with your strengths and use them to provide value to the world. Money will follow

8. Have faith in miracles… you’re living one

9. Have faith in yourself… you’re a miracle

10. Embrace your emotional side. Chills and goose-bumps signify the miraculous

Inspirational Thursday

I read about a 15 year old girl called Alice Pyne in the National paper today, and her story has moved me so much.

Alice suffers from Hodgkin's Lymphoma, an illness that I have a great understanding of from a family member, who was diagnosed and thankfully has come out the other end

Alice is a courageous young teenager and has created her very own blog to update followers about her progress through the illness. As part of her blog she has a section for her bucket list (which is also the name for her blog), where she has shared some her dreams for her life and I am touched by how simple and heart-warming some of them are. I really hope she manages to complete as many of them as possible.

Alice created and started writing her blog on Monday (6th June) and in the past four days there has been such an overwhelming response.

To follow or even pop over to take a look at her blog, please follow the below link (you can also find her blog on Bloglovin):

Life Lessons; part one

1. Be compassionate. To yourself, and others

2. Get out of your comfort zone every day. This is where you will grow, and never stop growing

3. Spend time weekly with people you admire or love. Life is far more fulfilling with friends to share it with

4. Perform a random act of kindness every day. It benefits everyone

5. Your work is to discover your work, and then with all your heart, to give yourself to it. Okay, that one was Buddha
Now, I'm not saying that I live by these lessons, but they are something that I try and keep in the forefront of my mind and try my hardest to do the best by me.

There are 50 lessons in total, and I will share five with you each week.

If you have any of your own lessons, or would like to share any of your thoughts, please comment below or email me.
