Last of the Mocassin

I have been looking for a pair of suede Mocassin's for what feels like forever. They had to be black, suede, have the tassels on the front and they had to be a size 3! I know you are most probably thinking "well that's easy, the shops have been stocked full with what you are after for months". I know, and I believe you. My biggest problem is the size, for some reason shops don't seem to stock a lot of size 3 shoes (apart from nasty looking ones), so all of us people with small feet seem to be fighting over small shoes or going home empty handed.

But, I came across the shoes in the photos, while looking in my local New Look store and I fell in love. They were everything I wanted and looked great, they had my size in every colour apart from black. Empty handed off I went home to search their website, I found them here and they are also now on sale.

They've arrived and haven't left my feet since, they are perfect.

Comfort food

I will be the first one to say that I am not a cook. It isn't really something that interests me or relaxes me. I get all hot and bothered, stressed and find I have to clean everything as I go, which ends up with things burning.

So on my few days off, I thought I would play a good housewife to the boy and make a Cottage Pie. After four hours slaving away (I am rubbish at chopping), getting stressed and lots of cleaning, I was so happy with the result. So happy in fact that I thought I would share with you all.

The boy was overwhelmed with my effort and had two portions! I served the Cottage pie with spinach and a glass of well deserved red wine.

Yummy.

Am I missing out?

I have been reading a lot about Macaroons recently and bloggers seem to love them. I have never tried them and don't even know if anywhere near me sells them.

To be very honest they have never really appealed to me, but after the hype I am going to track them down and find some.

So, are they worth it?

Inspirational Thursday

I am very guilty of living in dark colours, black tends to be my go to safe colour.

I love the inspiration that I can pick up for other bloggers, and with colour blocking being hot this year, a lot of bloggers have been sharing their style.

The above photos are a few of my favourites that I have picked up along the way, unfortunately I don't know where all of the photos are from. If you know please let me know and I will link the blogs.

You said how much?

Following the recent launch of Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, handbag line for 'The Row' at Barneys. I have seen a few photos of the collection from the launch (how amazing does Ashley look, in the first photo).

Ashley stepped out in New York this week with one of the bags from 'The Row'. The bag (in photos 2 and 3) is a Crocodile backpack with gold hardware at the toggle, and is the most expensive bag that is featured in the collection, retailing at $39,000 (about £23,749).

I came across a short interview between the Olsen's, explaining their thoughts on this new line, that can be found here.

Her name is Lola...

...and she is very much a show girl.

Sorry I haven't posted for a while. Since the arrival of Lola on Friday evening, it has been non stop. The boy and I are loving her and showering her in so much attention, and trying to get her to be friends with Bambi.

To be very honest, it hasn't been love at first sight with Lola and Bambi. Lola has her own room where she can feel safe and has everything that she needs. We are introducing them for short periods of time and have to keep a hold on both of them. Bambi gets very excited and wants to smell Lola and Lola keeps hissing and doesn't want to know. But I am hoping over time it will get easier and they become friends that we can leave in a room together... We shall see, if any of you have tips please let me know.

But the above are a few of the non blurred I have managed to take (most photos are of her sleeping - she moves so fast).

Today is the day...

I can't wait or believe that later this afternoon I will be picking up Lola. After spend way too many hours we picked the name Lola, like many of you also said you liked. (thank you).

I can't wait to get her home and watch her for hours being cute. Fingers crossed Bambi is very good and doesn't think she is a new toy...

My guilty pleasure

On a cold, dark, wet evening, I love to curl up on the sofa with a glass of wince, ice cream and Bambi to watch 90210. I love the show, the characters and wish why couldn't my school days of been just like that.

One of my favourite characters is Ivy played by Gillian Zinser. Her character is a surfer dude with great taste in fashion, and looking at the above photos it shows that her style doesn't stop when the cameras stop rolling.

Her style isn't mainstream (which is great and makes her stand out) and she is very creative in her outfits and her other passion of art. I can't wait for the new season and the new highs and lows of the characters.

Which TV show is your guilty pleasure?

Inspirational Thursday

In January 2010, I had my long hair (just below my arm pits) all cut off to just below my ear lobes, I was bored with my long locks and wanted a change. I also change my hair from blonde to red.

I am now wishing/wanting/willing for long hair again. Isn't that always the way, you want something you can't have or will take forever to get. My hair is still red, which I like, thinking about going back to blonde and it is just above my shoulders.

So does anyone have any great overnight tips on how to achieve long healthy hair?
