My resolutions for 2012

I have completed my first full working week and it wasn't the easiest of tasks! I missed eating when I wanted, having a nap during the day and spending my time being with friends and family.

The start of the year is a great time to make new resolutions or even carry some over from the year before. Chris (The Boy) and I made some at the start of the year.

By the end of 2012, I hope to:

Take a holiday
I know this sounds like an easy one. But Chris and I didn't get the chance to leave the lovely UK shores and jet off anywhere hot and relaxing. We either didn't have the time because of work, couldn't decide where to go or have the money. I really want to try and get away somewhere hot before the end of March.... Fingers crossed.

To be fit and healthy
This tends to be on everyone's list and is one I really need to pull my finger out and make sure I stick to. It is so easy to slip back into watching telly, eat whatever I like and no be very active, but I'm not getting any younger and I want to start looking after myself more.

Learn a language
This is a personal resolution and not for any reason. I would like to learn Spanish and be able to feel confident when speaking and reading it. When I was at school I learnt German but unfortunately I wasn't very interested and put more effort into other subjects. To make up for my lack of interest I would like to learn a language that I would enjoy.

A few years ago I suffered a big hit in confidence. I started to worry too much (I still do), I didn't stick up for myself and kind of let people walk all over me. I would always think of the perfect thing to say after the other person had left or didn't have the nerve to say it in the first place, I was a shell of my former self. It all started to change towards the end of last year. I started to stand up for myself and start to think there is more out there than what I have and I am the only person who has the ability to change it. I hope this change continues and I become stronger throughout 2012.

So, here is to 2012. I hope you all have a great year and that it is everything that you want from it.

  1. I love all of your resolutions, especially the last one which I think everyone needs to resolve to do once in a while... I just stumbled across your blog and thought I'd check in to say hello - you have a new follower :D

  2. What a lovely set of resolutions! I don't generally tend to make resolutions myself but I think the coming of a new year is a beautiful opportunity to evaluate everything that is happening in your life. I agree with your words on health - every year, I vow that I'm going to be more diligent in the gym and follow a salubrious diet ... and yet, it always falls through! We'll have to support each other in this one. ;)

And I hope that by the end of 2012, you find the confidence you've been seeking because it's such an important quality to have! Eradicate the people who jeopardise it from your life. :)

    Love, Mandy xx

  3. Im still working on my resolutions (maybe do things a bit quicker should be my top one!) but yours sound just about on a par with mine. Here's to 2012 and getting things better.

  4. Hope you achieve all your goals Lou xoxo

  5. Buena suerte. (Good luck) lol. I think ;)
