Falmouth - Part Two

To wake up and see the sun over the sea, really isn't a feeling you can beat. After a relaxing lie in and the most amazing English breakfast, we ventured out and went exploring. We hadn't really made any plans of where we wanted to go or see and decided to make it up as we went along.

After wondering around the village and little lanes that hid the most beautiful shops, we decided to take a boat over to St Mawes.

We enjoyed an afternoon of sipping bubbles and an lovely afternoon tea in the amazing Hotel Tresanton. Where we sat and watched the world go by, it was pure bliss.

To bring the day to a close we went for dinner at 'The Shack' all that was on the menu was seafood and the 'Shack Stack' didn't disappoint!

Whole crab, mussels, razor clams, king prawns, battered squid and scallops = Heaven!!

The only tools we needed (and our hands!)

Falmouth - Part One

A few weeks ago (how time flies) I mentioned that Chris and I were taking a trip to Falmouth in Cornwall for his birthday.

We had the most amazing time and it was so good to get away and relax. We took so many photos to capture the weekend and have promised that we will have to go back there.

The drive from Surrey to Falmouth took about five hours, with a break half way. By the time we arrived at the B&B we were tired and need to stretch our legs, but this view gave us the energy to not crash and burn, but to freshen up and explore.

For our first night, we decided upon dinner at Rick Steins Seafood bar, and we were impressed. We had the battered scallops for starters and I had mussels for my main; if mussels are on the menu, I am guaranteed to order them for either starter or main. I love them!

After dinner we headed to a small converted church, now a cinema to watch Ted. As we curled up on the sofa with waiter service, we relaxed and laughed our way through the film.
