Journey of self-discovery

In April (which now seems like a lifetime ago), Chris and I traveled to Costa Rica for two magical weeks. Costa Rica has always been at the top of my ‘Places I want to visit’ and my dreams came true and it definitely didn’t disappoint!

We went there with positive vibes, open hearts and minds, I wasn’t sure what I would find but I knew that I would be able to answer some of the unanswered questions I was too scared to face or couldn’t put my finger on the nagging feeling at the back of my mind.

We hired a Suzuki Jimny for our road trip, which came to a total of 1,252 miles around Costa Rica in two weeks! We booked each hotel/inn/treehouse/beach hut/Airbnb before we left the UK, to ensure we knew where we were heading and how long it would take for us to get there. I read so many blogs and reviews for some of the best-hidden treasures and not so touristy spots (but we couldn’t help but avoid some of them) and Chris very expertly plotted them out on a google map.

One of my top ‘to do’s/to see’ was to be up close to some of the most beautiful and exotic nature that the wonderful country had to offer. As I am typing this post I feel the need to keep pinching myself, as it really doesn’t feel real.

One of my main reasons to visit Costa Rica was for the Sloths and I wasn’t disappointed, after overcoming a number of emotions (mainly crying and trying not to have an emotional breakdown) I was over the moon to be in the presence of these most extraordinary and beautiful animals – one experience that will never leave me and I wish I could do it every single day.

As well as ticking items off of my bucket list, I found myself quickly settling into the slower pace of life (after we had left the hustle and bustle of San Jose), work disappeared from my mind and I enjoyed chilling, relaxing, taking time just for myself, reading books and taking part in yoga classes – a mix of beach front, listening to the waves, in the middle of the jungle looking out to the rainforest canopy, anywhere where I could focus on my breath and take a few zen moments.

Costa Rica, reignited my passion and love for yoga, that you can read more about in my post - 'Yoga Challenge'.

I was in a country that I had fallen head over heels with and I didn't want to leave. I had found myself, a small part that had been itching to show its self and knowing that I wanted more than what I have now and that there is so much I still have to learn.

This journey of self-discovery is no where near over, it has only just begun.

Full moon in Capricorn

Did you see the full moon this week? It was amazing, so bright large and orange.

I google searched to see what makes this moon different and I'm glad I did. The full moon is in Capricorn and this represents a powerful and positive energy that is a sign of long-term goals and plans - something that I am focusing heavily on at the moment and found this very relevant.

I couldn't help but take a photo (slightly fuzzy) to capture the moment.
